Rachel McGuinness is a registered dietitian who is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. Rachel received a degree in dietetics from Penn State University. She has also been trained and educated in the post-grad one-year didactic internship program through the well-known food service company Aramark. She gained clinical experience at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Rehab Center, Kennedy Health, Shriners, and St Mary’s Medical Center. Rachel has also worked as a clinical dietitian and oncology specialist dietitian at these facilities.
While she enjoyed the clinical/hospital setting, Rachel found that she did not feel that it was her forever job. As soon as Rachel started working at Nourish Me Nutrition Therapy with other extremely knowledgeable dietitians and wonderful patients, she knew this was what she wanted to do with her degree. Rachel feels that her education and knowledge are important to share with others: “I am called a dietitian, but it does not mean I put my clients on diets. We work together on lifestyle changes that my clients can carry with them for the rest of their lives.”
Rachel’s degree requires constant continuation of her education to ensure that she is up to date with new studies and findings. This helps Rachel be the best dietitian for her patients and sets them up with the best opportunity for success. She prides herself on building great connections with those struggling with weight management. Rachel understands how life can get in the way and seeks to help her clients make changes even in hard times:
“Small changes are still changes.”
Rachel is a loving wife to her high school sweetheart and has two wonderful little boys that keep her on her toes. Rachel enjoys playing with her children, large family dinners on the weekends, going for walks/runs at the park and listening to music.
